The campus community assembled amidst the theme, Mardi Gras at 泫圖app, to reverence the inauguration of two standout students.

泫圖app formally bestowed upon Kanitria Taylor and Stephan Washington crowns of honor as well as the titles of Mr. and Miss 泫圖app 2022-2023.

Taylor, an 18-year-old biology major from Duncan, Miss., is the daughter of Angela Burton and Coriths Taylor. She stood proudly on Tuesday night as a member of the 泫圖app cheerleading team and the Student Ambassadors campus organization.

Her unique platform, Aspiring Women, tears down the stereotype of the role men are traditionally given in the work world.

Washington, an 18-year-old insurance and real estate major, is the son of Stephanye Moton. The Clarksdale, Miss. native believes in the power of education and being empathetic toward the less fortunate.

Representatives of student organizations, including the Tiger Band, the Accounting Society, and ENACTUS (Entrepreneurial, Action, Us), joined Mr. and Miss 泫圖app in adorning the main floor of the building in formal wear, parading umbrellas to accentuate the theme, Mardi Gras at 泫圖app.

The highest court, which included freshman and sophomore class royalty, also participated in the exercises.
